Our LASIK and PRK summer campaign is designed for patients aged 18–40 who are considering vision correction before summer. From 15 August to 30 November 2026, eligible patients who proceed with LASIK or PRK can donate their spectacles to Lions BrightSight at Sandton Eye Clinic and receive a R6,000 campaign benefit towards their procedure.

Why Start Your Vision Correction Journey Now?
If swimming is part of your summer plans, it is worth planning your LASIK or PRK journey early.
Patients are advised to avoid swimming for one month after LASIK or PRK. Starting now allows time for:
- a comprehensive refractive consultation;
- an assessment of your individual suitability;
- procedure planning and scheduling;
- your procedure, if suitable; and
- recovery before returning to swimming and other water activities.
A consultation does not automatically mean that you will be suitable for LASIK or PRK. Your eyes first need to be carefully assessed and the most appropriate option recommended for you.
Pass Your Frames Forward
Your old spectacles may no longer be right for you, but the frames could still have value to someone else.
During this campaign, eligible patients aged 18–40 who proceed with LASIK or PRK can donate their spectacles before or on their procedure date and receive a R6,000 campaign benefit towards their procedure.
Donated frames are collected for Lions BrightSight, where suitable frames can be repurposed to help provide spectacles to people who need them.

LASIK or PRK: Which One Is Right for You?
LASIK and PRK are both laser vision correction procedures designed to reduce dependence on glasses or contact lenses.
The best option is not determined by preference alone. Factors such as your prescription, corneal shape and thickness, eye health and lifestyle need to be assessed during a comprehensive refractive consultation.
Some patients may also discover that another vision correction option is more appropriate for their eyes.

What Does the Campaign Include?

The campaign applies only to eligible LASIK or PRK procedures completed within the campaign period, 15 August 2026 to 30 November 2026, and is subject to individual suitability and campaign terms and conditions.
Why Consider Vision Correction?
For many people, glasses and contact lenses work very well. If you are happy wearing them, there is no need to pursue a procedure.
For people who would prefer to rely on them less, laser vision correction may offer another option.
Patients often explore LASIK or PRK because they would like greater convenience when:
- swimming and enjoying water activities;
- exercising or playing sport;
- travelling;
- getting ready in the morning;
- wearing non-prescription sunglasses; or
- managing uncomfortable contact lenses.
Whether laser vision correction is appropriate for you can only be determined after a comprehensive eye assessment.

Important Information
This campaign is available to eligible patients aged 18–40 and applies to bilateral LASIK and PRK procedures only.
- The campaign is valid from 15 August to 30 November 2026. To qualify for the campaign benefit, the eligible LASIK or PRK procedure must be completed by 15 December 2026.
- A comprehensive refractive consultation is required to assess suitability and is charged separately.
- The campaign benefit applies only once suitability for LASIK or PRK has been confirmed.
- Not everyone is suitable for laser vision correction. The recommended treatment will depend on the patient’s individual clinical assessment, and clinical recommendations will not be influenced by the campaign.
- To qualify for the campaign benefit, spectacles must be donated before or on the procedure date. If spectacles are not donated, the standard procedure price will apply.
- Patients may donate prescription spectacles, spectacle frames or prescription sunglasses.
- The campaign benefit remains the same regardless of the number of pairs donated.
- For a qualifying bilateral LASIK or PRK procedure, the campaign benefit is R6,000.
- In the event that only one eye is treated, the campaign benefit will be reduced to R3,000.
- If used in conjunction with MediWallet financing, the campaign benefit will be reduced to R3,000 for a bilateral LASIK or PRK procedure, or R1,500 if only one eye is treated.
- The campaign benefit is not transferable to another patient and cannot be combined with another offer.
- Donated spectacles will become part of the Lions BrightSight donation programme.
- Patients are advised to avoid swimming for one month after LASIK or PRK and should follow their surgeon’s individual postoperative instructions.
