Needing glasses for reading is an inevitable fate, but there are other more permanent options.
The lens in your eye is flexible and changes shape to focus on near, intermediate, and far objects. After 40 the lens slowly loses its flexibility. This causes difficulty in reading and other close tasks. If presbyopia is not corrected, you may get headaches due to eyestrain.
Surrendering to reading glasses isn’t a question of if, but when. With the advances of modern medicine, there are more possibilities than ever to continue functioning seamlessly despite the loss of your natural ability to see up close.
There is a permanent solution to presbyopia, called PresbyLasik, which I will discuss in my next post.
